In the heart of downtown Fort McMurray you can find the Centre of Hope, Fort McMurray’s only daytime drop in centre for our communities homeless and near homeless adults.

Mardi believes that our hearts open through serving others.  Volunteering is essential to our community and its growth.  As a long term resident of Fort McMurray and TEDx Alumni and Top 50, Mardi is forever grateful for the opportunities that Fort McMurray has offered her and her family.  Giving back by sitting on the board has been both challenging and rewarding.  She looks forward to many more years with The Centre of Hope

Valerie has been a resident of Fort McMurray since 2008.  She is a long time volunteer with the Northern Lights Hospital Foundation and before moving here, was the Board President for the Canadian Mental Health Association, Edmonton, Edmonton Regions for two years.  As a new Board Member, she is looking forward to bringing her experience in all areas of business and to making a difference in our community.

Staff Sergeant Ryan ADLAM is a senior member with the Wood Buffalo RCMP.  Having lived and served communities in various parts of Canada, Ryan is delighted to be invested committed and compassionate community service group as well as being personally linked to the core values, vision, and mission of the Centre of Hope in Fort McMurray.

Intrested in Becoming a Board Member?

We are currently accepting applications for board members for individuals who have an interest in supporting our mission to provide support to those experiencing or are at risk of homelessness, are at risk of homelessness and actively working towards ending homelessness in our community. More specifically, individuals with specific skills and experience related to legal, Indigenous, social work or social justice that would be an asset to our board.  Potential candidates are encouraged to contact our Executive Director, Rosie Keating at execdirector@fmcentreofhope.com for more information on how to apply.
