10 years STRONG

September 05th 2015 marked the Centre of Hope’s 10 year celebration. It was with thankful heart and a mission of: Addressing Homelessness; by inspiring hope, encouraging change; through love, kindness and acceptance that the Centre of Hope opened it’s doors on September 05th 2005 to those in our community at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

We celebrated our 10 year journey in a simple way with a free BBQ at our Centre, inviting the community to walk through our doors and meet our Centre of Hope Family.

We are beyond thankful for funders like the United Way of Fort McMurray and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo for their support in our first decade! We have made positive movemnts in our community providing a safe and judgment free environment for our patrons to come in from the streets. One of these steps was the creation and the immense growth of our Housing First Program as we look to address the issue of homelessness in our region.

In 2011 we rebranded and set forth on raising awareness of and funds for the amazing work we do in our community. Including an annual homelessness awareness week as well as a mud, obstacle paint dash.  We are so very proud of all of the accomplishments we have made over the past decade and we are positive that the next 10 years will see many more!

Thank you Fort McMurray, together we can address homelessness, inspire hope and encourage change; through love, kindness and acceptance.
