DONATE your gift Cards for a TAX RECEIPT

The average Canadian household receives $500.00 in Gift Cards each year and many of these cards simply act as dust collector or take up room in our wallets. Why not donate these unused gift cards to not only contribute to the Centre of Hope in a direct way but also secure yourself a TAX DEDUCTIBLE receipt. These are very valuable to the Centre of Hope; we are always in need of items that many gift cards can buy, so we appreciate you thought.

How to make your gift

Simply follow these simple steps and Voilà you have contributed to the Centre of Hope and earned yourself tax deductions. 

  1. Register your gift card: register it on http://www.cardswap.ca/charity/collectinfo/charityid/13301-10991-ffb5-2043 and select Centre of Hope. Then mail your gift card to:

  2. Amount Validation. Upon receipt of the gift cards Card Swap will validate the card and issue payment indicated (up to 25% of the redemption value of the gift card) along with donor report to the Centre of Hope.\
  3. The centre of Hope will issue you a tax receipt for the amount received.

CardSwap, a Toronto based company, provides the service to convert gift cards and merchandise into valuable donations by directly purchasing these cards for up to 85% of face value. These proceeds are received and wholly donated on your behalf to the Centre of Hope.

Things needed at the Centre of Hope

We are always accepting donations of gently used and new adult clothing. Here is a list of things the Centre of Hope needs for our patrons:

  • Packages of Oatmeal
  • Packages of Noodles
  • Bra’s
  • Men’s and women’s under garments
  • Chap stick
  • Socks
  • Men’s and women’s razors
  • Women’s hygiene products
  • Shoes

Please feel free to drop off donations during our business hours. We are open 7 days a week from 8:30 am -4:00pm closed from lunch from 11:30-12:30pm.
